Established in 1994, playing friendly fixtures in both Southrop and at Farmors School, the team then moved to Coln House School entering the league structure at Gloucester Divsion 3 level.
One of ten teams making up the Stroud District Combination as part of the Gloucestershire RFU, Fairford have also played in the Dorset and Wiltshire league set up, which included winning D&W 3 North in 2005/6 season, and D&W 2 North in 2012/13 season.
In 2015 the team withdrew from the league structure to rebuild, playing friendly fixtures more suited to a very young squad.
Due to the RFU league restructure the Club finds itself in the Counties 3 Tribute Gloucestershire North league. The immediate aim is to climb out of this league at the first attempt. Fairford RFC is an ambitious and family friendly club who welcome absolutely everybody.
