FAIRFORD’S 2nd XV continued their unbeaten season with a comfortable 54-7 win at Cheltenham Civil Service.
With plenty of enthusiasm and new faces, the Badgers’ second string came from behind after the hosts touched down with an early converted score after a competitive opening to this friendly fixture.
Veteran fly-half Gareth Bowman rolled back the years with a 22-point haul thanks to a brace of tries and six conversions, whilst centre Alex Moore also powered over for two tries as the game opened up in the second half. Chris Tanner scored a hat-trick whilst scrum-half Jacob Nowacki, guesting for the club on a three-day visit from Poland, also crossed for a try.
It was an enjoyable afternoon played on an excellent surface and well-hosted by Cheltenham Civil Service, who Fairford look forward to welcoming to Coln House later in the season.
